Dr. Reiter completed a 6-year B.S. /M.D program with AOA honors at the University of Miami in 1992. He stayed in Miami for his Orthopaedic Residency training after which he completed the Emory University Spine Fellowship.
He began his career in 1998 in New Jersey at The Rutgers School of Medicine as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
In 2008, he switched to a semi-academic private practice setting in a spine specialty group with the Rutgers University Orthopaedic Residents rotating on his service.
Dr. Reiter has published numerous book chapter and journal articles and has won several outstanding educator awards from the Rutgers Orthopaedic Residency Program. Dr. Reiter is a Past President of the New Jersey Orthopaedic Society.
Within NASS, Dr. Reiter has served as Vice Chair of the Committee on Ethics and Professionalism, Chair of the Professional Compliance Panel, Chair of the Payor Policy Review Committee, Co-chair of the Coverage Committee, and most recently as Council Director for Administration and Development. Currently he serves on the Executive Committee as NASS Treasurer.
Dr. Reiter’s hobbies include beach volleyball, tennis, hiking, and he has a black belt in mixed martial arts (Sil Jun Do).
