Dr. Dohring graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and Yale Medical School. He is the founder of the Spine Institute of Arizona, where surgical and non-surgical colleagues use a team approach to evaluate and treat patients most effectively, and where for many years every physician has been voted by their peers as a “Top Doc” in Phoenix Magazine. Dr. Dohring cares for the complete spectrum of spinal disorders, but throughout his career he has been passionate about minimally invasive approaches to surgical spinal disorders. Dr. Dohring is also passionate about teaching and medical/legal work. He is the Director of the Spine Institute’s Spine Surgery Fellowship Program, and has traveled internationally to train other spine surgeons in minimally invasive surgical techniques which he has helped research and develop. He has also traveled internationally to volunteer his surgical skills in many third world countries. He is the currently Secretary and formerly Education Council Director on the Board of Directors of NASS, the world's largest association of spine care specialists.
